A brief statement by the Pakistani army in Islamabad, however, claimed that Havildar Mohiuddin was killed in “unprovoked firing by Indian troops” at a Pakistan post named Kundi in Battal sector along the LoC at 2.40pm.
The firing took place in the same area where Pakistani troops killed two 13 Rajputana Rifles soldiers — Lance Naiks Sudhakar Singh and Hemraj — on Tuesday. The body of one of them was later found badly mutilated. Pakistan denied its soldiers were involved in the brutal attack.
The Indian army rejected Pakistan’s claim that it lost one soldier in the exchange of fire in Battal sector. India also dismissed Pakistan's allegations that its army transgressed the LoC in Uri sector and killed one of its soldiers on Sunday.
