The Pinjore police station booked a 21-year-old youth on the charge of raping a minor girl on Thursday.
Shankar Mondal, a resident of Bihar, fled with a 14-year-old girl on January 3. The girl's family lodged a complaint against Mondal. "Both the boy and the girl were found in Ambala. They claim that they have got married, but the marriage of the minor girl is not valid. We have registered the case under Sections 376 (rape), 363 (kidnapping) and 366-A (procreation of minor girl) of the IPC," said SHO of the Pinjore police station inspector Raj Kumar.

The accused will be produced in the court on Friday. "We have also added a section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against the accused," said Raj Kumar.
