Asked whether the ongoing ceasefire violations could derail the peace process, Khar replied: "I will hope not and I (do not) see it derailing or setting back the process."
She said Pakistan was committed to the ceasefire and called for pursuing the existing mechanisms, which 'allow us to deal with such issues and problems.'
Pakistan had earlier proposed a United Nations probe into the ceasefire violations on Wednesday. Foreign Minister Khar also pointed out the contradictory statements coming from New Delhi. A senior Pakistani military official said it was beyond their comprehension that why the India was escalating the tension. “If this continues, we are left with no other option but to respond."
