Fresh western disturbances are prevailing in Himachal Pradesh, following which rain or snow are likely to occur in next 24 hours in different parts of the state. After the week-long dry weather, rain or snowfall can occur at parts of middle and high reaches, a Met official said here on Friday.

The people will get a little respite from the partly cloudy sky to overcast temperature as the day temperature increased by two degrees, he added.

Cold wave had thrown the normal life out of gear in tribal areas where the mercury was recorded between minus 10 and 15 degrees celsius.

Water supply remained in shamble as pipe lines were bursting with freezing of water in pipes. Moreover, icicles could be seen formed in many water streams.

 Roads are slippery making impossible to walk and move vehicles on them.

The official said visibility on the road has been reduced in plains and areas falling near the river banks after formation of fog along the road, partly disrupting rail and vehicular traffic.
