A village school teacher was arrested for allegedly molesting two minor girl students at Nangenatti village, about 20 km from in Belgaum, police said.

His arrest followed complaints from the two 14-year-old girls to their parents, who along with other villages, beat him up and handed him over to police today.

Police said he used to lure the girls into accompanying him to the city after school hours on the pretext of buying new clothes and molest them. He had been doing this for a 19 day period from December 24, they said.

He had also threatened them with dire consequences if they complained to their parents.

A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Criminal Procedure Code, police said.
