Association general secretary Talwinder Singh alleged that vested interests were taking people away from the issues that matter. Shyam Sunder Dipti expressed concern over the decreasing level of tolerance among people, saying that it was the responsibility of the parents to give direction to their wards.
Jagir Kaur from Janvadi Istari Sabha criticised the government setup for not being able to curb the crimes against women. Principal Harjinder Kaur Kang stressed that women should dress up in a decent manner. Hazara Singh Cheema said that contemporary writers were not realising their duties towards society. General secretary of Virsa Vihar Society, Jagdish Sachdeva, said that plays should be used as a medium to bring about awareness in society. Other speakers underlined the need for steps to change the mindset of the people.
