At a recent standing committee meeting of the corporation, Yadav had directed the deputy commissioners to start the process immediately.
“We will remove it after issuing a challan to the guilty property owner. If you don't remove the garbage on your property, the corporation will do it but not for free,” the commissioner said.
According to a municipal official, there are vast DDA and PWD plots where there are plenty of garbage lying around, which the corporation can now clean and fine the government departments concerned.
“Action will be taken against those who are dirtying the city, even if it is some government department,” the official said.
The EDMC’s garbage-removal capacity was recently increased to 1,900 tonnes daily.
