The local police have rounded up Tilak Raj, who allegedly drove the truck which ran over Jyoti, a Dalit girl of Bhunga village of Hoshiarpur, who was found dead on a road in Sector 21, Panchkula, on November 22 last year.
He is being questioned in the presence of Congress' Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, the prime accused in the case.

It came to light that accused Paramjit had allegedly called up Tilak to bring the truck from Baddi.

Jyoti was inflicted injuries inside Chaudhary's car and when she became unconscious she was thrown on the road to be run over by the truck, as per Chaudhary's statement. The accused wanted to pass off the murder as an accident.

Tilak Raj will soon be produced in the court.

Meanwhile, the local police on Tuesday produced Nirmal Kumar, resident of Baddi, who had allegedly helped Paramjit escape, in the court.

Kumar was picked up from Baddi and charged for harbouring Paramjit when the police were looking for him. Kumar was later released on bail.

Chaudhary will be produced again in the court on January 18.

Paramjit, Gurmeet and Dharampal are at large and Haryana Police recently announced an award of Rs. 50,000 each for anyone giving information leading to their arrest.
