"We have seized CCTV footage from cameras installed in the neighbourhood but nothing substantial could be found," said an officer, adding that investigators were now trying to ascertain the role of an insider in the robbery.
According to the police, Puri had just reached home from a club and her driver was waiting outside the house, when the men posing as courier boys arrived. However, Puri told them she wasn't expecting any delivery, but still met them at the door. She was immediately overpowered and manhandled. The men stole around R20,000, which they had spotted inside an open safe, snatched two gold bangles from her wrists and fled.
“Arrests will follow soon," the officer said.
