Indian-Arabic fusion concert
You can enjoy a fusion concert as well as catch an Indian classical dance recital under the same roof. Splendour of Masters will feature a performance of Indian and Arabic music by a host of musicians, besides offering a unique presentation of Odissi and Bharatanatayam in a single routine. “We have a good understanding and share common aesthetic sensibilities. Our presentations together are challenging yet satisfying,” says Odissi danceuse Madhavi Mudgal, who will team up with Bharatanatayam expert Alarmel Valli.
The music ensemble at the event will comprise Mohan veena player Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, flautist Rakesh Chaurasia, tabla player Subhankar Banerjee and drummer Ayman Boujlida.
It will also feature Egyptian artistes Mohamed Farghaly and his son Hamada, who play Arabic string instruments, the oud and the qanoon respectively.
