Meanwhile, about 150 tourists were stranded at Mashobra and about another 100 at Kufri.
The fresh spell of snow hit the normal life in the capital town, as the road transport and rail services remained disrupted. Snow on the roads also delayed the supplies of daily commodities, especially milk. The town witnessed heavy snowfall in the evening, affecting vehicular movement on main roads. Substantial number of cases came to light where vehicles had collided with each other after skidding on the snow-laden roads. The heavy snowfall in the town also triggered panic buying, leading to shortage of milk and bread. Anticipating more snow, the residents have stocked milk, bread and candles.
There were reports of heavy snowfall in the upper areas of the Shimla district. Chopal, Rohru, Jubbal Kotkhai, Rampur and Theog assembly segments remained cut off from the capital town beyond tourist resort Kufri.
