The discussion 'Rethinking Kala Nagar traffic junction' was organised by BMW Guggenheim Lab. Mayuri Sisodia, winner of the contest, said: "People should be encouraged to use the Kala Nagar skywalk. If stalls, cafeterias, waiting lounges, cyber cafés are put up, people will start using it. A garden under a flyover or a river park near Mithi River are some other steps."
"A person exiting a railway station, must be provided with a skywalk to connect him/her to an auto/ taxi/ bus stand," said Kalpit Ashar, another participant.
"These points won't remain on paper. We will focus on important aspects and apply them at other junctions too," said Vivek Phansalkar, joint commissioner of police, traffic. Other panelists PRK Murthy, chief of transport, MMRDA; Sirish Patel, urban thinker and civil engineer; Kumar Ketka, senior journalist, and Darryl D'mont, activist and former journalist, said it is important for all agencies to work together to implement ideas.
