Jailed Kerala-based PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, admitted to a private hospital recently for treatment of diabetes, was shifted to a multi-speciality hospital in Bangalore in the wee hours on Saturday after he complained of giddiness. Madani, arrested in connection with the 2008 serial bomb blasts in Bangalore, was shifted from Soukhya Hospital to the Manipal Hospitals around 2 am after he complained of tiredness and giddiness, Medical Advisory Board of Manipal Hospitals (MHS) Chairman Dr Sudarshan Ballal said.

His condition was "quite stable" and doctors were evaluating his health, Ballal said.

Madani, lodged in the Central Prison here since his arrest in August, 2010, was admitted to Soukhya Hospital on January 7 for treatment of diabetes and related eye complication.

The Karnataka high court, while rejecting his bail plea, had in November last year permitted him to avail treatment in a hospital of his choice under police escort.

Madani is among 31 persons chargesheeted in the case relating to the July 2008 bomb blasts that killed one person and left 20 others injured in Bangalore.
