The Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) led by Paramjit Singh Sarna on Sunday demanded immediate demolition of controversial incomplete replica of Golden Temple at Mastuana Sahib, 10 km from here.
Parchotam Singh Fagguwal, senior vice-president of the party, said the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has failed to obey the directions of Akal Takht regarding the demolition of the replica.

He said the matter of construction of Golden Temple's replica remained in controversy in 2009 and on June 20, 2009, then Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had directed by passing a Hukamnama to the SGPC to demolish the controversial building after carrying out a detailed inquiry.

"It is strange that the SGPC always exhorts people to obey Hukamnama of Akal Takht, but when it comes to itself, the directions of Akal Takht have no meaning for the Sikh body," he said.

Fagguwal appealed to people to gather at Mastuana Sahib from January 29 to 31 to carry out the demolition in a peaceful manner by chanting religious preaching for Guru Granth Sahib.
