Headley is accused of recceing the targets ahead of the 2008 terror strikes in Mumbai and he had even tried involving filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s son Rahul in his mission. However, the makers claim that the film will focus on the groundwork instead of the actual attacks.
“It’s about what happens with an innocent guy when he gets involved in the conspiracy,” says Sunil, whose company Bohra Brothers will co-produce the film with his cousin Abhishek Vyas.
Sunil has already started developing the script while consulting Hussain.
“The book reads like a documentary and we will use the same format for our screenplay. We will have Hussain around while shooting,” says Sunil.
The makers are planning to rope in Hollywood actors for the project. “It’s a huge film and people the world over would want to watch it,” says Sunil. “I’d go to any extent to get the best technicians on board.”
Ask Sunil if he is planning to have Rahul play his character, and he says, “I don’t want him to go through the same trauma again.”
