Minecraft Reality, an augmented reality app that lets users add their blocky Minecraft creations to the real world, has been announced and released for iOS devices.

The cooperative, creative computer game has sold over 8 million copies since 2009 and enjoyed an official fan
convention in Disneyland Paris over the weekend of November 24-25.

App Store and Android versions of the game were launched in 2011, and an Xbox 360 edition was deployed in May 2012.

The $1.99 Minecraft Reality app lets users upload their Minecraft creations and place them somewhere in the real world.

Other Minecraft Reality explorers can then find the objects, whether they be placed in offices, in houses, on city streets or in public gardens.

Also emerging from the French convention was news of a Minecraft build made especially for Raspberry Pi, a mini-computer intended for school use, and its Minecraft edition will help players learn how to code and develop for themselves; a new Minecraft update expected January 2013 is to better help players construct mechanical circuits within the game itself.
