Not willing to be seen as having been bogged down by the recent controversies over ticket distribution in the party, the BJP's PM candidate, Narendra Modi, will give a fresh push to his Mission 272+ (seats in the Lok Sabha) with a series of Bharat Vijay Rallies starting from March 26.

In his second round of nationwide tours, Modi will address 185 rallies covering 295 parliamentary constituencies, followed by party chief Rajnath Singh who will attend about 160 such events, separately. Other leaders will also follow suit.

BJP leaders claim that the idea behind the elaborate and sustained mass outreach programme was to infuse new blood into the party cadre, who may have got distracted by the recent controversies, and create a fresh buzz around Modi as the polls draw closer.

An invitation signed by Modi will reach residents of the constituency a couple of days before he lands there to address a rally. Pocket-sized NaMo Mantra cards, elaborating on his solutions to some critical issues, and a detailed "chargesheet" against the UPA government will also be distributed among voters before, during and after the rally.

“There will be GPS-fitted collection boxes for donations, a special audio message of Modi urging people to contribute to the fund, relevant banners and Thank You cards for donors,” BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told mediapersons here on Monday.

After every rally, the local leadership will receive a one-page summary of Modi's speech for distribution in the constituency. A CD recording Modi's entire speech will also be given to the local leaders, who can use it for campaigning in the constituency.

“Apart from its sheer scale and size, the conceptualisation and execution of these rallies will mark a paradigm shift in organising mammoth electoral public meetings. It will re-invigorate and transform conventional rallies to make them appealing, engaging and impactful to the new age voter through detailed planning and coordination between the party's local and central leadership, before and after the rally,” Naqvi said.
