MasterChef India winner Ripudaman Handa is a big fan of Amritsari kulchas of Kesar da dhabha, sumptuous jalebis, gulab jamuns and more delicacies of Amritsar.
During his visit to Amritsar on Monday, he talked about the secret of delicious food of Amritsar. "There are two factors. One is water - it is the basic and the most important ingredient used in food and the water of Amritsar makes the taste of food wonderful. The second factor is love with which the food is served. People here are so loving that they make everyone eat with love."
He further said, "I would be soon hosting a cookery show 'Snack Attack, Firangi Twist' wherein I will be seen preparing Indian dishes with an international twist". The show will be aired on Zee Khana Khazana, from Thursday.
"Amritsar food was and would always be my inspiration. I have always been coming back to taste these endless delicacies available here. There is a specific and a particular taste in every dish which pulls me back." He added.
Talking about opening his first restaurant in Punjab, he said, "Yes, I would. My native place is Jalandhar and I would open a food joint there soon as being a Punjabi I know the connection of food and Punjabis. But I would make sure that they taste something more than Indian food.Under one roof, butter chicken, Thai, Chinese and other cuisines would be served."
