It seems no respite for the city people from frequent incidents of snatchings as, in yet another incident, a woman, namely, Sukhbir Kaur, was injured with sharp weapons by a group of snatchers who robbed away her earrings in Chehertta on Sunday.

The incident took place in daylight when Kaur was out with her husband. However, the Chehhertta police, which are yet to register a case in this regard, claimed that no formal complaint has been lodged by the victim.

For the past few days, the city witnessed several snatching incidents especially in Civil Lines, Lawrence Road, Old Jail Road and Ranjit Avenue.

But complaints were merged into a single FIR for all these separate incidents. Complaining similar issues, a senior citizen had approached Punjab chief minister (CM) last year. The police registered separate FIRs only after the CM's intervention.
