The training programme focused on juvenile jurisprudence, child psychology and behavioural science. The training was organised with the assistance provided by JS Dhillon, principal, Khalsa College of Education.

The teachers from the college, Bindu Sharma and Deepika, guided the advocates on juvenile jurisprudence, child psychology and behavioural science with the help of a power-point presentation. Documentaries pertaining to child rights were also shown.

Speaking at the training programme, Arun Kumar Aggarwal, secretary, District Legal Services Authority, said that as per the National Plan of Action for 2012-13, the National Legal Services Authority has desired that each District Legal Services Authority should maintain a separate panel of lawyers for providing legal assistance to the juveniles in conflict with law in the proceedings before the Juvenile Justice Boards in the district.

Acting upon the instructions, the District Legal Services Authority of Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts had maintained such separate panels for respective districts, he said.
