Twitter has unveiled a new version of Twitter for BlackBerry offering users a richer microblogging experience on the go.
“Now when you expand a Tweet to see the details view, you can enjoy images from pic.twitter.com in full resolution and RIM maps for geolocated Tweets. It’s also easier to see how a single Tweet fits into a broader conversation from the details view with previous Tweets and replies,” said Twitter Product Manager Brian Frank in a post on the company’s blog.
Last week Twitter also introduced a new native Twitter app for Nokia’s Series 40 feature phones, giving users the ability to keep in touch with their followers without needing to upgrade to a smartphone.
“If you have a Nokia S40 device, you can sign up for Twitter directly from your phone, read Tweets from all of the accounts you follow, connect with others, and more. Download Twitter for Nokia now in the Nokia Store to discover one of the richest experiences available on your device,” said Frank.
Twitter has been hard at work improving its mobile apps and mobile website, mobile.twitter.com, over the last few weeks. The company recently introduced expanded tweets on both its iPhone and Android apps before bringing it to its mobile site.
In the last few weeks Google has made updates to its Google+ Android and iOS apps too. The newest versions of the apps feature an iPad-optimized layout plus the ability to create and edit Google+’s new Events on the go.
You can download Twitter for BlackBerry from the App World and Twitter for Nokia Series 40 feature phones from the Nokia Store.
