Atelier’s Youth Theatre Week (AYTW), in association with Hindustan Times, is back and the city will get to see the best of the campus theatre. The festival that opened on 15 November, will have 22 teams from Delhi University. The venues are Delhi University and Kamani auditorium in Mandi House.
The event was inaugurated by Kiron Bhatnagar, deputy secretary, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Mukesh Chabbra, casting director from Bollywood. Bhatnagar, said, “Campus theatre is really vibrant. The festival will showcase the best of DU theatre.”
The opening ceremony saw a play Fools by the students of Ramjas College. “This year, the response was great and we planned to have a college performance,” says Kuljeet Singh, festival director, AYTW.
Another benefit that students are looking forward is the presence of casting director Mukesh Chabbra during the fest. “I am working on six new projects for Bollywood and I plan to pick some fresh talent from here,” said Chabbra at the inaugural.
