An amateur acoustic guitarist, Kate Walsh, has beaten music band Take That and singer Sir Eton John in the download charts from digital music provider iTunes.
The 23-year-old Walsh's album "Tim's House" is homemade and it has become a surprise hit. She has also knocked out stalwarts like Kaiser Chiefs. But she doesn't even own an iPod yet, reports contactmussic.com
She said: "I don't actually have an iPod yet. I hear they are quite good for 10 hour flights."
She said though there was great interest in her work from the US, she was happy to be in Britain. She recorded all her songs in a friend's house and it cost her just a few hundred pounds.
