Chub Nokkaew’s 85-year-old mother has never left her native Thailand. But thanks to her photographer son, she gets a chance to see herself amidst the various attractions of the world - from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the gondolas of Venice.
Chub photoshopped his mother, Nang Lom, into travel snapshots from different cities that he had visited.
Nang Lom, now too unwell and old to travel, was delighted to see herself in places where she only dreamt of visiting.
‘When I was younger and my mother was strong and able to travel, I was busy working hard to build a stable life for us and help to support her,’ says 48-year-old Chub in a Daily Mail report.
Now, Chub’s mother can barely see or hear and has difficulty walking. “I can no longer take her anywhere,” says Chub. “I’m sad about that and I regret it a lot. I wish I could go back in time and change things, so she could see all the beautiful places,’ says Chub, who runs his own studio in Bangkok
Chub hopes that his pictures serve as a reminder to everyone to take their mothers on vacations on Mother’s Day (August 13) “otherwise, you’d end up like me”.
