English comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen is set to portray rock band Queen's singer Freddie Mercury in an upcoming big budget biopic.
The Borat star has reportedly been chosen ahead of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star Johnny Depp by the producers and band members, for the film.
According to a source, the film-makers are sweating hard to make a good script for the film, which will feature the rocker's legendary partying.
"Film makers are working flat out to get the best possible script. Sacha loves the idea he can get away with playing Freddie after modelling Borat's look on him," the Mirror quoted the source, as saying.
Mercury earned a reputation as one of rock's most charismatic live performers before he died of complications from AIDS at the age of 45 in 1991.
