As part of a long-term initiative to popularise Italian arts and culture in India, the Italian Embassy's cultural centre in Delhi recently kicked off a 15-day-long festival. Spread across six cities, the festival places special focus on film, language and music in its schedule.
The Corto Film Festival, scheduled to be screened in two parts, will showcase Italian short films as well as full length features like the acclaimed A School With A View and Friends At The Margherité Cafe on October 6 to 9 and from 13 to 16. The film festival will then travel to universities across the country.
Under the cultural festival banner, movies and musical performances will travel and be part of various other festivals, including a performance by Francesca Cassio at The Rajasthan International Folk Festival and screenings and concerts at the annual IIT festival. The Language Week — which will include various workshops and quiz events — will be spread out over 20 venues and will start on October 16 in the capital.
