As the warrior princess and feminist icon turns 75, DC Entertainment has planned a series of events from July 21-24 during the San Diego’s Comic-Con.
Panel and cast signing, July 23
Celebrations of the iconic comic character “Wonder Woman” at Comic-Con San Diego 2016 include a historic panel in Room 6DE featuring appearances from the Amazonian warrior’s past, present and future. DC Entertainment also promises “a few surprise guests.” Signings from the latest Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot and co-stars Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen will take place at the DC Booth from 12:15 to 1pm.
Props, costumes and figures
DC’s dedicated Wonder Woman booth during the convention will include props and costumes, including the original outfit seen on Lynda Carter in the 1970s Wonder Woman television series. Fans of the iconic costume will be put to the test in a cosplay contest on July 23 at 5pm. For those who prefer to admire the character rather than emulate her, the DC Collectibles panel on Thursday will showcase their latest creations, including new Wonder Woman 75th anniversary figures.
Photos, books and designs
A highlight of the Wonder Woman celebrations is the opportunity to have your photo taken in the cockpit of the superhero’s invisible jet outside the San Diego Convention Center. Inside, the Graphitti Designs booth #2314 will be selling exclusive Wonder Woman artwork by comic book artist Jim Lee.
As part of DC’s year-long celebration of Wonder Woman, a box set of her most famous stories is set for release in July, as well as a special edition hardcover book celebrating her 75th anniversary (October). The publisher has also released a new commemorative logo to honour the icon’s legacy.
Comic-Con San Diego takes place from July 21-24 (preview night on July 20) with Wonder Woman-related events taking place predominantly on Saturday 23.
