The use of candles on Diwali - the festival of lights, represents the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. While markets in the city are flooded with different types of candles and diyas, we bring you a creative option to kill your time this festive season. Here are five different classes in the city, where you can learn the art of candle making. From pillar, chunk, shell to fancy customised candles, these classes would do justice to your search.
Neeta Bajaj (Art Station)
Offering more than 100 varieties of candle making with an experience of seven years in the profession, Art Station is a good option to consider for learning the art of candle making. Basic course is of two days whereas the advance course is one week long with the student-mentor ratio being 1:1 as the institution aims at giving personal attention. Material used here includes types of wax such as coloured, paraffin and hurricane wax.

Gunjan Sakhuja’s classes
Candle making is not taught on a regular basis here, but with Diwali around the corner, Sakhuja is conducting classes. With an experience of three years in the profession, she specialises in beer candles and ice cream candles. The present batch strength is three students and the course offered is on the beginner level which lasts for four days. Here, you can also learn to make rustic, shell and floating candles.

Ekta Singh’s classes
Specialising in log and potpourri candles, Singh has been in this profession for four years now. Courses offered for candle making are basic and advance which last for one and three days respectively. Other than these, 25 other varieties of candles such as handmade and aroma candles are taught by her. Gel candles are also a hit here.

Nirjur Creative Learning
This institute has been teaching the art for the past five years and holds an ISO certification. They offer a variety of 30 candles which include taper, jar, lock and pillar candles. Courses offered are basic and professional which last for two weeks and one month respectively. Nirjur Creative Learning also offers certificates for professional courses.

Rose n Wrap
With the batch strength here, varying from three-five students, Rose n Wrap offers five different courses for candle making such
as basic course, designer course, advanced course, candle decoration and gel candle course with a variety of 10 candles to learn in
each course. Duration of all courses is one-two days and they teach the art of making different types of candles such as pillar, chunk,
spiral candles and many more.
