Spirituality, the feminine experience, and the plight of the labour class of India — four artists come together to explore these myriad topics on canvas.
Artist Balvinder Kumar from Lucknow, an IAS officer by profession, says, “My work at the exhibition is spiritually oriented and has paintings on Buddha and cosmic energy. I have used mostly acrylic, but some works are a mixture of oil and acrylic.”
Sculptor Rajni Jamwal has explored the lives of farmers and labourers in her work. “Through my sculptures, I am representing those who constantly work with old and outdated tools. My sculptures too are made out of tools like the pick axe,” she says.
The other artists, Sadhna Kumar and Mahesh Prajapati, explore femininity and works in terracotta, respectively. On from March 29 to April 4 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhawan, Copernicus Marg.
