Cultural venues and art spaces across the city are ever buzzing with festivals, but theatre production company Balancing Act's initiative - YouTheatre- is a unique concept that aims to celebrate a host of performing arts under the same roof.

Apart from providing a platform for young theatre enthusiasts and aspiring artistes, the five-day cultural extravaganza is also collaborating with four NGOs - Adhar: a home for the mentally challenged; Kranti: a home for daughters of sex workers; AngelXpress: an educational institute for battered and impoverished street children and Welfare Of Stray Dogs. "The theme we have chosen is change in its various forms. Over the course of the festival, we will conceptualise acts and, on the final day, we will stage them," says Divya Palat, founder, YouTheatre.

As part of the event, there will be a series of masterclass sessions, workshops and heritage walks.

YouTheatre will be on till September 14, at NCPA, Nariman Point, from 10 am.

Must attend:

Masterclass with Shiamak Davar Institute Of Performing Arts on improvisation and bringing about change through dance.
Masterclass with Divya Palat on the art of monologues.
Letters To My Mother: A drama that revolves around the issue of female infanticide.
Film screenings:
Three short films shot on the participating NGOs to be screened on Friday (September 12).
