Titled, Musings, the exhibition features works of seven artists. “The exhibition captures everyday impressions and thoughts and brings to life a stimulating new perspective. Each photograph being displayed holds a frozen moment that has been picked from the daily grind of life,” says artist Ravi Dhingra, whose works are also on display.
Since the seven participating artists all come from varied professions and backgrounds, the exhibition offers an interesting mix of diverse reflections. “My photographs relate to monsoon in Goa, a time when fishermen do not venture into sea on their boats,” says Dhingra.
The work by artist Moushmee K Jha draws inspiration from her mother’s aesthetic traits. “I am deeply inspired and influenced by my mother’s obsession with detailing, her energy and her positive connection with people around her. The same reflects in my photographs,” she says.
The photographs are for all age groups, as the artists feel that the moments are universal. “I believe that photography is a celebration of a particular moment in time and place...and my frame freezes that moment...these moments are universal…they go beyond any specific age group or time,” says Dhingra. “I seek a harmony within my daily life and these still life images express the calm and feeling of peace I wish to draw one’s attention to. It is my attempt to portray the warmth and serenity,” says Rohit Kumar, another participating artist.
