It was a play that got the Capital talking. Lilette Dubey’s play, August: Osage County, which was presented by Ballantine’s, was performed in Delhi last weekend as part of a six city tour.
The play is based on author Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name, which was written in 2007. The cast features well-known actors such as Ira Dubey, Sandhya Mridul, Suchitra Pillai, Kitu Gidwani and Darshan Jariwala.
A play that explores the notion of family and family bonds, it takes a look at a family that tries to cope up with life after its patriarch goes missing. Dubey’s performance is the one to look out for. The play now travels to Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
