What better than a play about love to enjoy the romance of the rainy season? Let’s Talk about Love, a romantic comedy about couples at different stages of their relationships, premieres in the city this weekend. The cast includes Divya Palat, Aditya Hitkari, Khushboo Hitkari, Sanket Mhatre, Gaurav Sharma, Karan Sagoo and Kiran Thapar.

Director Divya Palat has been doing theatre for almost 14 years now and has directed ten plays. Her play on the Mumbai terror attacks travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year and was ranked among the top three.

Palat had already tested Let’s Talk About Love before a select audience once earlier at Kala Ghoda. “I always wanted to write something with more characters and that was a challenging task. I’ve written bigger dramas, but not a romantic comedy. It’s hard to write one because it’s all about the timing. But my first audience gave me a positive response.”

Palat find couples fascinating and funny. “So there are the teenagers who are just about to fall in love, there’s a couple in a live-in relationship and the other married. And there’s the single man who’s looking for a perfect match. They all meet in a social situation and interact with each other to arrive at their ideas of love.”
