On the sand dunes of the Thar Desert, imagine the tunes of enchanting music and adventure activities such as camel race and off-road driving. This pleasant visual won’t just be a dream with the upcoming festival, Mahindra Open Sky in association with Hindustan Times.
“With its immersive experience of culture and adventure, Mahindra Open Sky celebrates the romance of the desert and embodies the spirit of Live Young Live Free. Set against the backdrop of the mighty Thar, it presents a unique opportunity to be part of a collective of souls with common interests and passions,” says Anand Mahindra, executive chairman, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
Spanning two nights and three days, this event for just 500 attendees, has an stunning line-up of Indian and international artists including concerts by singer Papon and actor Ayushmann Khurrana — with his band Ayushmann Bhava. “I was thrilled when asked to be a part of the line-up at Mahindra Open Sky, as it sounds like the perfect setting for an intimate session with my band. We’ve got an amazing set lined up for the audience, looking forward to playing it under an open sky,” says Ayushmann Khurrana.
Similar excitement is palpable in Papon’s voice, when he says: “It’s always good to know that you’re part of something that’s happening for the first time, and in the case of Mahindra Open Sky, there are many firsts! I think, for the first time, a festival is combining music and adventure. It’s also the first festival in India with only 500 attendees. I’m thrilled to be a part of this journey from the start.”
The organisers believe that the festival will be an unforgettable experience. “Mahindra Open Sky has a multitude of offerings. From dune bashing in the Thar to enchanting concerts by contemporary Indian musicians, it promises to be an experience you’ll want to relive each year,” says Jay Shah, head, cultural outreach, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
But this isn’t all! There will also be a village expedition and guided tours to the local surroundings, which can be experienced alongside Rajasthan’s royal hospitality and the breathtaking countryside view.
