Hacienda Gallery will showcase photographs by Varziyar Dadabhoy, from April 22. Titled, Venice Project, the exhibition will display photographs that Dadabhoy clicked in Venice. These are mostly landscpaes, architecture and scenes from daily lif in Venice.“As a photographer I have not thought them through, but rather captured them with my camera in a very real and candid way so as to reflect and form a shot in each picture, that catapults you into a reality which still happens to be a destination, that all of us cannot visit,” says Dadbhoy.
A longing to be somewhere other than wherever we are – to be free, of our daily lives, of the walls that will not let us out, and our own desire to be somewhere familiar; is a very positive thing. To the brave and adventurous these pictures will seem like a window on the wall, a glimpse into another world and a recent past.
The exhibition will be on view till April 30, at Hacienda Gallery, Great Western Building, Kala Ghoda. Call 22837232.
