Three for joy:
The reason why Hungarian musicians Andras Kozma (sitar), Peter Szalai (tabla) and Andras Molnar (tanpura) took the name Calcutta Trio is simple: They have thoroughly learnt Indian classical music, they've been
playing together for almost 30 years, and even though they follow their Indian masters faithfully, they had to choose a particular name, just for the sake of identification in our continent. Watch out for Kozma, the only European
disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar.
March 9, 6 pm. Hungarian Information Centre. Call: 23011152 or 23014497 for further details

I can talk English:
It's a play based on the humour arising out of the decision of two brothers to converse in English. Set in 1930s, Big B explores the irony faced by an English-educated family in predominantly Hindi-speaking environs. While one brother is studious, the other is interested in sports. They have little in common - if one talks about history, it's hockey for the other. An English adaptation of Premchand's short story Bade Bhai, the play directed by M Sayeed Alam, has been staged a record number of times. March 11, Alliance Francaise, call 43500228
