Celebrate the spirit of christmas at these carnivals in the city

What’s Christmas without the sound of Jingle Bells, colourful candies and surprise gifts from Santa Claus? From getting clicked with a 60 feet tall snowman to singing popular carols, getting showered with cookies to watching Christmas themed plays and puppet shows, there’s a lot happening this week. Get ready to sing, dance and make merry at these Christmas carnivals in the Capital.

Caroling for joy
At Saket Select Citywalk, sing along to popular Christmas carols from 5pm to 6pm, followed by a theatrical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz by Stagecoach kids till 8pm. The other attractions here include a prism inspired Christmas tree, which is made of more than 5 lakh tiny mirrors and Santa Claus on a chariot.

A red-hot Christmas
A Christmas tree made of poinsettia flowers with a lady mannequin at the top will catch your attention here. There is also a Santa Bus that will be distributing gifts among the guests on December 24 and 25. You can try your hand at the free clay modelling or origami workshop, and also send your wishes to Santa Claus in a mailbox, who might make them true.

Welcome to Santaland
This carnival features a a 60 feet tall Santa Claus, and a 100 feet Christmas tree. A huge castle gate welcomes you into the Christmas themed Santaland, which has dance contests, fashion shows, 3D animated laser shows and a magic show. Entry to this festival is for R50 only.

Playing alive

Christmas gifts

Enjoy Christmas day with short plays like Love Came Down and Morning Star in the morning. Watch the play, A Christmas Carol, adapted by Dramabaaz in Hinglish, at 3.30pm and 7.30pm. See 14 life size puppets dance to songs such as Yeh hai Uncle Scrooge, and, It’s Christmas time, leave all your work behind.

Disney Magic
Party with Mickey Mouse and friends at the Disney Zone or dress your best at the princess corner. Mould some clay and recycle products into interesting cartoons or do some thumb and spray painting at the art and craft corner. Take the Mickey challenge, enjoy Mickey’s music class, Disney carol singing and a Santa parade throughout the day.

Candies and Carols
Professional groups will be singing Christmas carols at the foyer from 5pm to 8pm. Guests can collect their favourite candies and chocolates at the candy shower after every hour on December 25. Leave some creative messages on a graffiti board on Christmas eve. You can also enjoy a violin performance by Imran Khan from Delhi-based band Parikrama.
