The mother of all campus festivals, HT City Youth Nexus is all set to kick off at the Delhi University from Monday. The festival has been witnessing a gathering of more than 2 lakh students every year, with not just colleges from the Delhi University, but also institutions like IIT, AIIMS, Maulana Azad Medical College participating and performances from popular names from the world of music such as Alisha Chinai, Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh, Anu Malik, Kailash Kher and Shankar Mahadevan. Head-banging rock performances by bands like Pentagram, Them Clones, Parikrama, Indian Ocean, and Aryans also added magic to the event in the last three years.

This year it gets bigger and better — the event is spread over five days with even rocking performances from some glittering names from the music world.

Youth Nexus shall also offer a platform for the student community to showcase their talents in competitions such as Western dance and music, street plays, choreography and fashion shows. And those who can’t make it to the group contests, can still shine through in a special feature called DU’s Got Talent. This is a competition where you can impromptu come and show your talents in 2 minutes.

All the colleges that make it through the prelims get to perform at the main events that will take place on December 17and 18 at Birla Mills Complex in Kamla Nagar. And last but not the least, to make the festival experience even better, there are numerous food stalls dishing out a delectable fare of lip-smacking delicacies.

The buzz surrounding the HT City Youth Nexus has already got the students excited. “We are very kicked as our college is participating in choreography and Western dance,” says Rupani Sharma, President of Western Dance society at Kamla Nehru College.

For some, this is a perfect time to see their favourite celebs. “Last year, I got to see my favourite VJ Rannvijay hosting a show at the Youth Nexus. I am looking forward to more celebrities this year,” said 3rd year student Devika Sharma.
