What if you don’t have to travel around to get a sense of wanderlust? Well, this one-of-its-kind travel fair in the city explores all aspects of travel — photography, films and shopping. To be held at Dilli Haat over the next weekend, the fest called Travelista aims at popularising travelling as a concept and as a culture.

Brainchild of 24-year-old Delhi-based photographer, Akshuna Bakshi, this is the second edition of the fest. “After studying and working in London, I wanted to take the concept of combining travel with culture and design back home. So we came up with this last year. The response was great and we are back with the second edition,” she says.

The fest will primarily have three aspects: shopping, travel films and photography. Around 55 stalls of apparel, jewellery, home décor, accessories, kitsch, pop art and vintage will be on display for people to shop.

“Products inspired from international concepts to Indian popular culture will be on display as well,” she says.

The festival will also host a travel film contest where top 30 travel film entries from around India and the world will be screened, and top two entries will be awarded.

“Last year we only had two Indian entries, but this year there are around 15. I am glad that people are taking an interest in the concept,” she adds.

There will also be travel related photographs on display at the fair.

“Since we have received so many entries, we will be holding a digital exhibition. However, the top 10 entries will be showcased,” Bakshi adds.
