Hoping for the best as it is all set for the results of Punjab elections, many Congress candidates from the district chose to offer prayers at Golden Temple and other gurdwaras in the city on Friday.

To start the day, various Congress candidates including Lok Sabha nominee Gurjit Singh Aujla, MLA candidates Sunil Datti, Santokh Singh Bhalaipur, Harpartap Ajnala, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Inderbir Bolaria, OP Soni and other Congress leaders went to pay their obeisance at the Golden Temple.

Even Congress candidate from Majitha, Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lali Majithia sought blessings from Dera Baba Darshan Singh Kullli Wale at Ghanupur Kale.

With poll results on the brink now, many other candidates also offered prayers at gurdwaras and temples in and around the city.

On Thursday, Congress Lok Sabha candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla and Congress candidate from Amritsar (South) Inderbir Bolaria performed ‘sewa’ at gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib for around eight hours.

Few Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including party candidate from Amritsar (east) Rajesh Honey were seen holding meeting with party workers at the local party office.

AAP to have a giant screen

Hoping to do well in the Punjab elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be installing a giant screen at the office of its Lok Sabha candidate Upkaar Sandhu. In a message on social media, AAP has invited all its party volunteers there to catch the live updates of the results.
