The Madras high court today stayed the release of Kamal Hasan's movie 'Vishwaroopam' till January 28. On Saturday, a judge will review the film which was banned by the Tamil Nadu government in wake of the protests by Muslim groups. Earlier in the day, the ban imposed by the Tamil Nadu government on Hassan's film had evoked mixed reactions. Muslim cleric Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mehli was in favour of the ban, saying that the film hurt the religious sentiments of their community. However, producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival, Sanjay Roy, had condemned the ban on artists, saying that other methods could be used to tackle the issue.
