In a major success for security forces, police arrested five Maoists with a cache of arms and ammunitions in Palamu. The police had received information about a group of Maoists hiding in a village with arms and ammunitions. Assistant SP Apoorva spoke to media about the operation during which the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) rebels were arrested. He also informed about the arms and ammunition recovered from the arrested ultras. The five cadres, identified as Ishwari Oraon, Binod Oraon, Vikas Yadav, Chhattu Bhuiyan and Chandan Paswan, made an abortive bid to escape with their weapons, but the two police teams along with villagers had almost sealed their exit.
