Meghalaya & Nagaland record high voting in assembly elections

Meghalaya and Nagaland registered 88% and 83% polling in the state elections held on Saturday, which passed off peacefully barring a few minor incidents in Nagaland. The deputy election commissioner of India, Alok Shukla, said that the final figure on the voter turnout would be available after sometime. In Chalfilh Assembly seat in Mizoram, nearly 78% electorate exercised their franchise in the bye-elections, which was necessitated due to death of the sitting legislature.
