Thane, March 24 (ANI): An anti-Terror Squad, deputy commissioner of police, Sanjay Banerjee shot himself fatally on Saturday, even as he was seated around a table with his wife and two young sons having a meal at the Goa Portuguesa restaurant in Thane. Banerjee had a heated argument with his wife earlier in the day, although investigations are on to ascertain the reason why he committed suicide. Banerjee reportedly used his personal licensed 9mm pistol to shoot himself in the right temple. There were reportedly no other diners in the restaurant at the time. Banerjee’s body was first taken to Thane Civil Hospital, and later to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for a bullet injury post mortem.
