Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today said that discussion on the creation of a separate state of Telangana is still on. He had earlier said that the contentious Telangana statehood demand would be delayed further, as the government needed more time to arrive at a final decision. Meanwhile commenting on the signing of the extradition treaty with Bangladesh, Shinde said that it is an important step as it can be used for handling criminals between both the countries. India and Bangladesh signed a liberalised visa agreement and a landmark extradition pact on January 29th, during Sushil Kumar Shinde's visit to Dhaka. The new visa agreement will do away with certain checks on the visits of business representatives, senior citizens above the age of 65 years and children below 12.
