Deepak Bahrdwaj, a man who contested the last Lok Sabha elections on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket, was shot dead in a firing at his South Delhi farmhouse on the Delhi-Gurgaon border on Tuesday. According to latest report, two men, as yet unidentified, drove into Bharadwaj's farmhouse in a black Skoda car today. They reportedly had an altercation with him and shot him and two other persons. The assailants then fled. Bharadwaj and his associates who were injured were taken to hospital, where the businessman succumbed to his injuries. The police said his attackers were apparently known to him as they had been let into the farmhouse, which has massive gates guarded by securitymen. Investigations are on, but a property dispute is being cited as the reason behind the murder.
