Apple iPhone 5 makes India debut

Apple's latest iPhone – thinner, lighter and with a 4-inch screen – went on sale in India with a starting price of 45,500 rupees. The iPhone 5, which Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook said was the "fastest-selling" phone in history, sports a 4-inch 'retina' display and is 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S.

<P>In a bizarre sight, two jawans of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) exchanged rounds of lathis with each other at a place where Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was addressing a meeting. The two jawans, head constable Mukul Chandra Yadav and constable Sunil Dikshit were caught on camera chasing each other on a sidewalk and even on the road and clashing. One of them sustained head injuries and was seen bleeding profusely.</P>

<P>Delhi Lokayukta Manmohan Sarin on Wednesday indicted Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for misuse of public funds in government advertisements, for political purposes in an election year. The Lokayukta has further recommended the President to advise Dikshit to reimburse 11 crores as half the cost incurred by her government for putting out the advertisements.
