Former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly congratulated Sachin Tendulkar, who has completed two successful decades in international cricket. Tendulkar will join a list of 15 players whose international career have spanned more than 20 years when he will play in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad on November 16.

Steven Kamar of Kenya won the Hong Kong Marathon, taking his team Kericho to overall victory in the Greatest Race on Earth 2006/07 series and a 400,000-USD first prize. In the final leg of the four-marathon team relay series, Kamar won in a time of 2 hours, 17 minutes, 3 seconds to overturn a 44-second deficit on previous leaders Marathon Centre Kericho and lift his team into first place with a cumulative time of 9:08:41.

In a major blow to Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Pakistan Supreme Court on Friday rejected his appeal against its order summoning him for framing of contempt charges. The Court summoned the Gilani to appear next Monday to face indictment over the governments two-year refusal to ask Swiss authorities to re-open graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. The SCs order included references of controversial NRO case history and governments failure to implement courts orders.

The Bombay high court has directed Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai to return the 20-acre land, which was allotted to him in 2000 for a film institute in Mumbai, by the Maharashtra government. The court said that the deal to allow Ghai to set up his film institute - Whistling Woods International - was illegal and arbitrary. The court also indicted the then Maharashtra chief and current central minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for misusing his official position as he allotted the land to Ghai.
