Auto firms end November mainly flat

Despite the festive season, auto sales for November failed to accelerate much. Barring Maruti Suzuki most companies ended the month flat.

Despite the festive season, auto sales for November failed to accelerate much. Barring Maruti Suzuki most companies ended the month flat.

“Overall the auto sector maintained the volume momentum in November. The domestic passenger vehicle sales remained flat in November. The consumer sentiments are good and the momentum will continue to remain steady,” said Vaishali Jajoo, analyst (automobile and transportation), Angel Broking.

Market leader Maruti Suzuki registered 28% jump in sales, selling 1,12,554 vehicles of which 10,051 units were exported. Hyundai saw a 52% dip in exports owing to maintenance shutdown at both its plants in Tamil Nadu. Cars on the move
