German premium carmaker BMW today rolled out its first '3 series' sedan from its plant near here, with a price tag of Rs 26.7 lakh.

BMW, the world's largest player in the premium segment, would follow this launch with the '5 series' in May.

The company, whose 20 million Euro plant can produce 1,700 units a year on a single shift, plans to sell 1,200 units of the sedans this year and 1,500 units in the medium term.

The product mix would be 50:50 between the 3 series and 5 series, whose price range starts from Rs 37 lakh and works its way up to Rs 42 lakh.
